Position: Project Officer – MCH
Report to: District Programs Manager Duration: Fixed Term
Location: District Level / Field Based – Salima
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To effectively implement budgeted interventions within the Maternal Child Health (MCH) Technical Programme (TP). The role involves optimizing prioritized TP models, fostering robust community engagement, and integrating Child Well-Being (CWB), sponsorship, and faith-based development into the program framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Management: Facilitate the development of annual implementation plans, ensuring interventions are delivered on time and within budget. Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Community Engagement: Assess and build the capacity of community structures to address issues influencing child well-being. Foster collaboration with government and service providers.
- Sponsorship Integration: Ensure Registered Children (RC) participate in sector interventions and conduct joint home visits.
- Capacity Building: Identify capacity gaps and train community groups, volunteers, and stakeholders, including training in disaster risk management.
- Protection & Advocacy: Sensitize partners on safeguarding behaviors, integrate Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, and facilitate Citizen Voice and Advocacy (CVA) activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Nutrition, Environmental Health, Nursing or any relevant field obtained from a reputable tertiary institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management at the community level, working with government structures and CSOs. Experience in the NGO sector is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong facilitation, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Excellent oral and written communication in English.
- Licence: Must be a competent motorcycle rider with a clean riding license (Preferred).
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
