Senior Mining Engineer
Location: Mangochi

We operate a modern quarry and plant, supplying high-quality cement products locally and internationally. We are seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical leadership and oversight for all mining and quarrying operations.
- Develop and refine short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with production targets.
- Supervise drilling, blasting, excavation, hauling, and material handling processes.
- Monitor mining production, productivity, costs, and resource utilisation, implementing enhancements as needed.
- Guide and mentor Mining Engineers, Supervisors, and other personnel involved in mining activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to mining legislation, safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Provide technical guidance for crushing and material processing to guarantee a consistent supply of raw materials.
- Assess mining equipment needs, utilisation rates, and operational efficiency.
- Lead investigations into mining incidents, operational challenges, and technical issues.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, HSE, Quality, and other departments to optimise overall operations.
- Prepare and review mining plans, technical reports, budgets, and operational performance reports.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, resource optimisation, productivity gains, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop junior mining staff, promoting high professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mining or quarrying operations.
- Possession of a valid mining license.
- Practical experience in drilling, blasting, limestone quarrying, and crushing operations is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Senior Chemist – Quality Control & Laboratory
Location: Mangochi
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for the Quality Control and Laboratory functions.
- Supervise and coordinate the chemical and physical testing of raw materials, clinker, cement, and other process materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, specifications, and laboratory procedures.
- Monitor and manage the quality of raw materials and finished products throughout the production cycle.
- Review laboratory results, identify any deviations, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Offer technical support to Production, Mining, and other departments on process and product quality matters.
- Develop, review, and enhance laboratory testing methodologies, procedures, and quality control systems.
- Ensure the proper calibration, maintenance, and verification of all laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and comprehensive quality reports.
- Participate actively in quality investigations, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the laboratory operates in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop laboratory staff, promoting best laboratory practices.
- Assist management with quality-related reporting, audits, standards compliance, and process optimisation efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, ideally within the cement, mining, manufacturing, or mineral processing sectors.
- Extensive practical experience in chemical analysis, quality control, and laboratory operations.
- Experience with cement/raw material testing and quality standards will be considered a significant asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.
