MMC Laboratories Limited, an API processing facility situated at Mbabzi Estate, Lilongwe, is recruiting an HR Manager to support its new cannabis processing operation.

1 – HR MANAGER

Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Employment Type: Full-Time

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a seasoned and motivated HR Manager to provide comprehensive strategic and operational human resources support. The ideal candidate will ensure effective people management, foster positive employee relations, and maintain strict compliance with employment laws and company policies. This role involves close collaboration with management and staff to achieve organizational goals through expert recruitment, performance management, employee development, and policy implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a relevant discipline.


• Possession of a professional HR qualification or membership with a recognised HR body is beneficial.


• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably including management responsibilities.


• Strong understanding of Malawian employment practices, HR principles, and labour legislation.


• Proven experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance evaluation, and disciplinary procedures.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


• Familiarity with HR or payroll information systems is an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, implement, and regularly review HR policies, procedures, and best practices.


• Oversee the entire recruitment and selection lifecycle, from job analysis to onboarding.


• Maintain precise and confidential employee records and HR documentation.


• Manage employee relations, advising management and staff on workplace matters.


• Administer disciplinary and grievance processes in line with policy and legislation.


• Coordinate performance management activities, including reviews and improvement plans.


• Identify training needs and facilitate relevant development programmes.


• Manage leave administration, attendance, staff welfare, and benefits.


• Collaborate with management on workforce planning and organizational development.


• Ensure adherence to all applicable labour and employment laws.


• Generate regular HR reports and workforce statistics.


• Support initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention.


• Provide expert HR advice and practical solutions to management.


• Promote a professional, inclusive, and productive work environment.


• Undertake other duties as assigned by management.
