Good People International (GPI) is seeking a dedicated and qualified SRHR Comprehensive Sexuality Education Educator to join its Malawi Branch. This vital role will focus on enhancing sexual and reproductive health and self-determination rights among upper-grade primary school girls in the Thyolo District, specifically within the Makandi area. The project aims to foster a secure and healthy sexual and reproductive environment for learners in Makandi and Milonga Primary Schools, extending its positive influence into the surrounding communities.

SRHR Comprehensive Sexuality Education Educator


Key Responsibilities



  • School-Based SRHR Education: Deliver engaging Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) sessions to Grade 6 and 7 learners at Makandi and Milonga Primary Schools. This involves approximately 12-15 sessions per grade, covering crucial topics such as puberty, menstruation and hygiene, sexual rights and consent, understanding pregnancy and childbirth, HIV/STI prevention, gender equality, violence prevention, digital safety, and essential life skills. You will also conduct pre- and post-training assessments to gauge learning outcomes.

  • SRHR Emergency Response Education: Facilitate training on recognizing sexual and reproductive health emergencies, outlining immediate action steps, reporting procedures, and referral pathways. You will contribute to the development and distribution of informational brochures and conduct emergency response education sessions both in schools and the wider community.

  • Development of Training Materials & Reporting: Utilize and review existing educational materials, including brochures, posters, and handouts. It is essential to submit comprehensive session reports following each training conducted.

  • Collaboration With Schools, Parents, and Community: Actively engage with Mother Groups and Girls’ Clubs at each participating school. You will also support workshops designed for community leaders and parents focused on SRHR and adolescent protection.


Qualifications


Required:



  • Possession of a degree or equivalent professional experience in Public Health, Counselling, Education, Social Work, or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in SRHR, HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, or child rights is essential.

  • Demonstrated experience in educating children and adolescents.

  • Proficiency in both Chichewa and English is required.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a safe and effective manner.

  • A strong ability to manage schedules and meet set deadlines.

  • A solid understanding of the local culture and community dynamics within Malawi.


Preferred:



  • Prior experience facilitating SRHR education in collaboration with the District Health Office (DHO), CHAM, or other health-sector NGOs.

  • Completion of a certified Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) training program.

  • Experience working within community-based development programs.

  • Training or practical experience in child safeguarding, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), or other protection-related fields.


Working Conditions



  • Contract Type: This is a Fixed-Term, Part-Time Contract position.

  • Position: Contract-based CSE Educator.

  • Duty Station: Makandi area, Thyolo District (in proximity to Chiradzulu TTC).

  • Contract Period: September 2026 – November 2026.

  • Duration: Three (3) months.

  • Working Schedule: The Educator will work exclusively on scheduled education and program activity days. The schedule will be adapted to meet school and program needs. Each education session is generally expected to be less than 90 minutes. Daily working time will typically not exceed 2 hours, excluding any agreed-upon preparation time. Lesson preparation may be conducted remotely, subject to prior agreement with GPI.

  • Remuneration: The rate of remuneration will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, aligning with GPI’s established criteria. Payment will be processed according to the number of sessions successfully completed.

  • Benefits and Logistics: Please note that housing and transportation are not provided. Any statutory benefits, where applicable, will be administered in accordance with current Malawi laws and regulations.

  • Performance and Attendance: Punctual attendance at all scheduled sessions and diligent performance of duties according to GPI standards are expected. Consistent lateness, unauthorized absences, or unsatisfactory performance may lead to contract termination as per the contract's terms.
