About

Ekhaya Luxury Resort Limited, a subsidiary of Renaissance Holdings, is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Pastry Chef. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other bakery products while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, food safety, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and specialty bakery products.
• Develop innovative recipes, seasonal offerings, and signature products.
• Maintain consistent product quality, freshness, taste, and presentation.
• Plan daily production schedules and minimise wastage.
• Monitor ingredient inventory and maintain adequate supplies.
• Conduct stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Implement cost-control measures to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in pastry production areas.
• Monitor bakery equipment and coordinate maintenance.
• Support functions, conferences, banquets, weddings, and special events.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff and pastry assistants.
• Continuously improve product quality and production standards.

Qualifications

• A Certificate in Food Production, Pastry Arts, Bakery, Cookery, or a related culinary discipline.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in pastry and bakery production, preferably in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of modern pastry techniques, dessert preparation, bakery production, and food presentation.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, stock control, and cost management.
