POST: PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Portland Cement Malawi Limited invites applications from suitably qualified, highly motivated team players and result driven candidates for consideration to fill the following position:
The Preventive Maintenance Engineer will ensure the plant reaches maximum long-term availability, reliability of the equipment, installations in the plant by implementing the appropriate preventive maintenance actions at the lowest cost and in compliance with the H&S regulations.
The preventive maintenance engineer will be responsible for the following activities:
Driving safety culture by ensuring maintenance activities strict follows health and safety requirements e.g. risk assessment, permits and safe work practices.
Execution of maintenance activities; backlog activities, spare parts management, inspections.
Data management: updating PMR, factory BOM, equipment history.
Equipment analysis: RCFA, RCA, FMEA, downtime and reliability analysis.
Plant improvement: project proposal drafting, project implementation and equipment replacement management.
Budget and cost control: controlling maintenance budget by ensuring planning and follow up of cost. Lead planning for all foreseeable operations.
People and development: motivating the team, ensuring skill development is done according to plant needs. Training and coaching the maintenance team.
Minimum qualifications are bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering, Energy engineering, Mechatronics engineering, and other engineering degrees related to mechanical engineering.
Minimum working experience of 5 years working in manufacturing industry.
Those with experience of 2 years or more working in the role of preventive maintenance engineer will have an added advantage.
Good technical Knowledge in electrical engineering and maintenance operations.
Proficiency in electronics and PLC programing will be strong added advantage.
Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems (hardware and software).
