Job Purpose and Key responsibilities

 

Job purpose
To effectively support the Broking Manager to grow general insurance business to meet set annual premium targets
Key responsibilities
1.      Meet sales revenue targets (Primary Duty)

2.      Support with securing new business through intermediaries

3.      Maintain excellent customer service to intermediaries

4.      Service existing business (Respond to client enquiries especially on claims, product upselling and cross selling)

5.      Follow up on renewals for general insurance business (At least 2 months prior to renewal dates)

6.      Produce proforma invoices for client payment (Based on closing instruction from intermediaries)

7.      Forward proposal forms and KYC documents to underwriting department

8.      Follow up premium collections(Daily, Weekly and Monthly debtors review)

9.      Produce client accounts statement (In liaison with Finance)

10.   Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk

11.    Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Working relationships
Internal Relationships:

·        Accountable to the Broking Manager and Assistant Sales Manager-(broking)

·        Required to liaise and work closely with the other departments as may be necessary

 

External Relationships:

·        Britam customers

·        Intermediaries

 

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

 

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
1.      Bachelors’ degree in a business related field

2.      Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII,  AIIK) will be added advantage

3.      2-4 years’ experience in a similar position
