Purpose of the Job:


To provide strategic coordination and leadership for the planning, execution, and successful completion of infrastructure development and maintenance projects, along with associated services.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Develop Strategic Business Plans and budgets for the Projects and Development Directorate.

  2. Ensure that departmental action plans are directly derived from the Corporation’s overarching business plan.

  3. Oversee the timely preparation of both operational and capital budgets for the directorate.

  4. Formulate long and medium-term strategic and operational plans for the Projects and Development Directorate.

  5. Facilitate the development of departmental action plans derived from the Corporation’s business plans, collaborating with other division heads to ensure the availability of necessary material, human, and financial resources for successful implementation.

  6. Prepare the Directorate’s Revenue and Capital budgets to align with the requirements of the Corporate Strategic Plans.

  7. Develop power planning and development strategies and policies that support the Corporation's overall business objectives.

  8. Develop and facilitate the implementation of an Integrated Resource Plan.

  9. Establish project design, design standards, and monitoring and evaluation strategies aligned with overarching corporate strategies.

  10. Develop plans to ensure environmentally sustainable development of power lines and installations.

  11. Continuously monitor and evaluate the implementation of action plans formulated by the Directorate’s departments, taking corrective measures as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Development Economics, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy, or Energy Engineering, coupled with a Master's degree in a related technical field or Business Administration/Strategic Management from a recognized and accredited university.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, including at least five (5) years in a senior management role or higher.

  • Prior experience within the power supply industry will be considered a significant advantage.


Appointment and Remuneration:


The successful candidate will be offered a negotiable performance-related contract for an initial term of three (3) years, subject to renewal based on satisfactory performance.
