Project Overview

Amarante Consulting is spearheading a vital initiative aimed at enhancing the institutional capabilities of a financial institution. The project's core mission is to facilitate inclusive, sustainable, and climate-resilient agricultural financing for smallholder farmers across Malawi.

This comprehensive assignment is structured around five key activity areas: optimizing agri-lending, refining credit risk management, integrating ESG and gender frameworks, boosting farmer financial literacy, and establishing robust knowledge management systems. To ensure effective on-the-ground implementation, particularly in farmer capacity building and local coordination, we are seeking a committed in-country professional.

We are actively searching for a proactive individual to support training initiatives, curriculum development, and field-level capacity enhancement. This role demands close collaboration with local teams, meticulous coordination of training events, and the delivery of practical, high-impact learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and finalize training materials.

  • Strategize and conduct training sessions.

  • Provide support to field teams and engage with communities.

  • Monitor project progress and prepare comprehensive reports.

  • Contribute to strategic business planning and capacity-building efforts.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in training, facilitation, or community-focused programs.

  • Exceptional communication and coordination abilities.

  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with a wide array of stakeholders.

  • Readiness to undertake extensive travel and support field operations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Finance, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline.

  • A thorough understanding of Malawian agricultural production systems, including key crops like maize and tobacco, associated value chains, and prevailing market dynamics.

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering effective training or capacity-building programs for farmers, agricultural cooperatives, or agribusinesses.

  • Proficiency in assessing financial viability, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and interpreting market data accurately.

  • Excellent aptitude for clearly articulating complex technical or financial information to diverse audiences.

  • A self-starter capable of working both independently and collaboratively, adept at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines within a dynamic project setting.

  • A strong willingness to travel extensively throughout Malawi to actively support field-based activities.

  • Competence in using standard office software and data analysis tools, such as spreadsheets and presentation software.

  • Familiarity with the Malawian agricultural landscape and its financial ecosystem is considered a significant advantage.

  • Experience with project management tools would be a valuable asset.
