ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN / SONOGRAPHER
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations independently.
- Accurately record patient data, imaging details, and procedures.
- Explain ultrasound procedures clearly to patients and ensure correct preparation.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images as per established clinical protocols.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment; report any faults.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Assist clinicians during specialized procedures.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention, control, and equipment safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or relevant qualification in Medical Imaging.
- Formal training and demonstrated competence in ultrasound scanning.
- Registration with the Medical Council of Malawi and a valid practising license.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging setting.
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties.
