Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site Software Developer position based in Lilongwe. The role involves the comprehensive lifecycle of software applications, including design, development, testing, and maintenance, ensuring alignment with business requirements and established technical standards. Daily responsibilities will encompass writing clean and efficient code, implementing back-end services and APIs, diagnosing and resolving issues, and optimizing application performance. Collaboration with fellow developers and stakeholders to interpret requirements, participation in code reviews, and contribution to architectural decisions will be integral to the role. The developer will also be responsible for documenting technical work, adhering to secure coding practices, and supporting the continuous improvement of our development methodologies.

Qualifications

• A strong foundational understanding of Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.


• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, encompassing API development and integration, database management, and server-side logic implementation.


• Solid Software Development and Programming skills, with experience in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with version control tools.


• Expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, including the design of modular, reusable components and the application of design patterns.


• Exceptional problem-solving and debugging capabilities, with the ability to effectively analyze requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.


• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to work constructively within on-site cross-functional teams.


• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.


• Experience with web frameworks, various database management systems, software testing methodologies, and secure development standards will be considered advantageous.
