About the Role
SDSN Youth is seeking a Project Officer to manage the operations and enhance the experience of participants in the Local Pathways Fellowship (LPF). This role is integral to the Visibility & Engagement and Admin & Management pillars of the LPF team, focusing on building a vibrant peer-to-peer network for young urban innovators.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the operations of the peer-to-peer network for Local Pathways Fellows.
- Collaborate with the Project Lead to understand and address fellow needs, strengthening network engagement across cohorts and regions.
- Develop and implement effective tools to foster peer-to-peer interactions.
- Contribute to shaping the overall peer-to-peer strategy for an engaging fellow experience.
- Execute LPF program operations and manage administrative tasks, including responding to program inquiries and maintaining online platforms (GDrive, Workplace, Airtable, etc.).
- Record and distribute minutes for relevant team and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure the accuracy and upkeep of databases and mailing lists, including the LPF Master tracker.
- Manage the LPF program email communications.
- Support the optimization of the LPF application process, including screening and onboarding new fellows.
- Communicate proactively and report consistently to the Project Leader, especially given the global, multi-time zone nature of the network.
Requirements
- Aged between 18-30 years (exceptions may apply).
- Demonstrated knowledge or interest in urban planning, urban environments, urban sustainability, urban tech, or related fields.
- Previous volunteer or work experience in operations management or membership management roles.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as a team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing workloads across multiple projects/teams.
- Effective communication and consistent reporting abilities are essential, including proactive communication across different time zones.
- Responsiveness and ability to manage regular communication, including potential after-hours calls, to accommodate a network spanning multiple time zones.
- Commitment to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Passion for SDSN's mission, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Paris Agreement.
- Excellent command of the English language (written, spoken, and listening).
- Availability of time and resources to commit to the role.
