Residence Chef

We’re hiring: Residence Chef at the British High Commission in Lilongwe

Are you a talented chef with a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences? We have an exciting opportunity to join the team at the Residence of the British High Commissioner.

The role:

You’ll plan and prepare high-quality meals for official events, dinners, receptions and functions — from formal dinners to afternoon teas and everything in between. You’ll also support menu development, source quality ingredients, and help ensure the smooth delivery of events to the highest standards.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified chef with at least 3 years’ professional experience

• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food hygiene and safety

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required

Desirable:

• Experience catering for large-scale events

• Knowledge of local produce and suppliers

• Pastry and dessert skills
