Overview
CHAMBAYIKA MILLING LIMITED, a prominent agro-processing enterprise, is expanding its operations and seeks skilled professionals for its high-quality Kilombero rice production under the KARONGA FINEST RICE brand.
We are actively recruiting qualified and experienced individuals for the following key positions:
Production Supervisor
Duty Station: Nyungwe, Karonga
This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the Company’s rice processing factory. The focus will be on ensuring efficient production, maintaining product quality, optimizing resource utilization, and achieving production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct rice milling, grading, packaging, and associated production tasks.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet performance goals.
- Supervise production staff, assign responsibilities, and monitor their performance.
- Ensure efficient management of raw materials, packaging supplies, machinery, and other resources.
- Monitor product quality to guarantee adherence to established food safety and quality standards.
- Maintain precise records of production output, inventory, waste, and equipment performance.
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of paddy rice and finished goods.
- Enforce workplace health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
- Ensure the thorough cleaning and routine maintenance of production machinery.
- Identify and address production challenges promptly through corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a degree or diploma in Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possess a minimum of five years' relevant experience in production or factory supervision, preferably within rice milling, food processing, or agro-processing.
- Demonstrate practical knowledge of production planning, quality control, inventory management, and machinery operation.
- Exhibit strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Possess good record-keeping and report-writing skills.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet production targets.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity, discipline, and attention to detail.
Finance & Administration Officer
Duty Station: Nyungwe, Karonga
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the efficient administration of the Company’s factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain precise accounting records, generating regular financial reports.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment processes.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities.
- Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and expenditure control initiatives.
- Manage payroll processing and maintain related employee information.
- Ensure compliance with all tax, statutory, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain organized documentation and filing systems for financial and administrative records.
- Assist with procurement, inventory control, and general factory administration.
- Coordinate administrative needs, including office supplies, utilities, and vendor management.
- Support internal and external audits and implement robust financial controls.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
- A professional accounting qualification or significant progress towards one is highly desirable.
- A minimum of three years' relevant experience in finance and administration, preferably in a manufacturing or agro-processing setting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of taxation, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting principles.
- Exhibit strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a high level of integrity, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
Location Requirement
Both positions are based at the Company’s rice processing facility in Nyungwe, Karonga. Applicants must reside in Karonga or be prepared to relocate.
