The Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Lilongwe operates around approximately 24,025 km² across Dowa, Kasungu, Lilongwe, Mchinji, Nkhotakota, Ntchisi & Salima districts. To meet its financial responsibilities and be able to move closer to self-reliance and at the same time maintain its social services mandate, the Archdiocese ventured into several investments through its industries and some of which are:
Likuni Phala factory located in Namitete: Production of nutritious flour for Likuni Phala
Namitete Furniture & Joinery located in Namitete: Carpentry workshop in Namitete town producing school desks, church pews, doors and household furniture etc.
We now invite applications to the following positions;
Position: Accountant (1 post)
Position Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the factory’s mission of producing nutritious flour for Likuni Phala. This role requires accuracy, integrity, and strong organizational skills to maintain financial transparency and support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and expenditure to support sustainable operations.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Oversee procurement payments, supplier accounts, and customer billing.
• Support management with financial analysis for decision-making.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications
• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing or food production.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

NAMITETE FURNITURE & JOINERY
Position: Factory Manager
Position Overview
The Factory Manager will oversee all operations at Namitete Furniture & Joinery, ensuring efficient production of high-quality joinery products such as furniture, doors, and fittings. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of woodworking processes, and the ability to balance production targets with safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management: Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily joinery operations to meet output and quality standards.
Quality Control: Ensure all products meet design specifications, durability standards, and customer requirements.
Staff Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate carpenters, machine operators, and support staff.
Resource Management: Oversee procurement and inventory of timber, hardware, and finishing materials.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce occupational health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment.
Reporting: Prepare regular operational and financial reports for senior management.
Customer Engagement: Liaise with clients to understand requirements and ensure timely delivery of orders.
Innovation: Introduce modern joinery techniques and machinery to improve efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration.
Additional qualifications in Wood Technology, Industrial Management, or related fields are an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in factory or production management, preferably in joinery or woodworking.
Strong knowledge of joinery processes, machinery, and finishing techniques.
Proficiency in basic accounting and inventory management systems.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
