The Patient and Community Welfare Foundation of Malawi (PAWEM) is a local organization dedicated to enhancing community health, building resilience to climate change, and fostering sustainable development in underserved communities across Malawi.

Job Summary

PAWEM is seeking three Community Facilitators to support community-based health interventions, climate resilience initiatives, and health promotion activities within Chikwawa District. The positions are specifically located at Chikwawa District Hospital (1), Nchalo, Hunger Health Centre (1), and Matawale Health Centre (1).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct community sensitization on critical health, hygiene, and climate-related risks.
• Provide support for household visits, follow-ups, and referral processes.
• Accurately collect and report community health data.
• Foster collaboration with local leaders and existing community structures.
• Actively promote preventive health practices and climate resilience strategies within the communities.

Qualifications

• A Certificate or Diploma in Community Health, Public Health Nursing, or a related field is required.
• Prior experience in community-based programming will be considered an advantage.
• Candidates must demonstrate a strong passion for community development and public health initiatives.
