Job Overview
The successful candidate will be entrusted with the comprehensive administration, coordination, and upkeep of the company’s fleet and facilities. This role reports directly to the Financial Accountant, with a secondary reporting line to the Operations and Business Development Manager.
Fleet Management Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of Mthunzi hearses and all other outsourced or leased vehicles.
- Plan and orchestrate preventive maintenance schedules and routine servicing for the fleet.
- Manage vehicle breakdowns, ensuring efficient and timely repair processes.
- Monitor vehicle readiness, physical condition, and ensure all compliance documentation is current.
- Handle fuel management, including monitoring consumption and conducting reconciliations.
- Guarantee that all vehicle insurance, licensing, and permits remain valid and up-to-date.
- Enforce driver compliance with established company fleet policies and procedures.
- Track all fleet-related expenditures and generate comprehensive reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to road safety regulations and all legal requirements.
- Investigate vehicle accidents and manage insurance claims effectively.
- Optimize vehicle utilization to minimize costs and enhance operational efficiency.
Facility and Equipment Management Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day oversight for cold rooms, chapels, and other critical operational areas.
- Coordinate both preventive and corrective maintenance for refrigeration systems and associated equipment.
- Manage and coordinate external vendors and contractors, including those providing cleaning, security, and repair services.
- Monitor hygiene, safety, and operational standards across all company facilities.
- Assess and report on the condition of facilities and operational assets.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and basic regulatory requirements.
