About One Acre Fund

Established in 2006, One Acre Fund empowers over 5.5 million smallholder farmers to boost their farm productivity. Operating across nine countries, which collectively house two-thirds of Africa’s farmers, we supply premium farm inputs, tree seedlings, accessible credit, advanced agricultural training, and a broad spectrum of other farming services. On average, this integrated approach helps farmers increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while simultaneously enhancing their long-term resilience. Our Malawian program, launched in 2016, serves more than 670,000 farmers with quality farm supplies and training. Our Malawi office is situated in Zomba, in the southern part of the country. One Acre Fund actively works within Malawi’s southern region, an area recognized for its high concentration of smallholder farmers.

About the Role

We are seeking a Trees Execution Coordinator with a minimum of 2 years' experience in implementing agroforestry programs. This role will be instrumental in overseeing execution across four districts, ensuring high-quality delivery and contributing to the program's ambitious 2030 goal of supporting 1.5 million farmers.

Responsibilities

Field Team Performance Management

• Support the Agroforestry Associate and Execution Specialist in recruiting and onboarding new staff, including Interns and District Senior Supervisors.


• Deliver comprehensive training to District Supervisors, Senior Field Officers, and Field Assistants on various program activities.


• Assist District Supervisors and Senior Field Officers in work planning and prioritization by guiding the allocation of time and resources to the most impactful tasks.


• Monitor and manage field team performance utilizing program scorecards and the escalation tool.


• Provide direct support to District Senior Supervisors through weekly field visits, balancing time between headquarters and field operations.

Manage Field Communication

• Deliver constructive and actionable feedback to both District Supervisors and Senior Field Officers.


• Consolidate field reports submitted by District Supervisors into a comprehensive weekly report for the broader team.


• Organize and lead weekly IV Team and bi-weekly field team meetings.


• Clearly communicate deadlines for various program activities.

Field Data Management

• Design and develop effective field data collection tools.


• Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and propose strategies for improvement in areas with lower performance.


• Collect and maintain updated village verification data at the EPA level.


• Conduct thorough reconciliation of seedling distribution data.


• Track and document seasonal learnings to inform and refine future expansion strategies.
