DENTAL THERAPISTS (Technicians) (2)

LOCATION: BLANTYRE

Key Responsibilities

• History taking, examination diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases
• Taking digital oral x-rays and interpretation
• Assessment of oral conditions requiring expert management and appropriate referral
• Prescription of standard drugs for oral conditions
• Oral prophylaxis, extractions and restorative treatments
• Oral health education and dietary counselling
• Management of RTA and other trauma injuries
• Keeping record of patients

Qualifications

• Must Have a Diploma in Dental Therapy from a recognized institution
• Must have the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent
• Must be registered and having right standing with the Medical Council of Malawi
• Must have at least 3 years experience at a similar post in a busy clinic
• Must be a self -starter, mature and able to cope with pressure of work
• Must have excellent communication skill and able to work as a team
