Location: Lilongwe

Reporting to: Site Engineer

Construction Foremen are vital professionals who unify construction teams, collaborating closely with managers and engineers to assess hiring needs, establish task deadlines, and enforce site safety protocols. They conduct on-site meetings and leverage their trade experience, adapting to industry demands.

Job Description

Intercity Building Contractors is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill four (4) positions for Finisher Bricklayers to work on various construction sites across Lilongwe.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Finisher Bricklayer will be tasked with executing high-quality finishing works on construction sites, ensuring compliance with company standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform plastering, rendering, and screeding tasks.
• Lay bricks and blocks with precision to complete structural finishes.
• Execute surface finishing to achieve a smooth and level standard.
• Repair and touch up any defective works.
• Accurately interpret construction drawings and adhere to site instructions.
• Ensure the proper use and maintenance of tools and materials.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors and other team members to meet project deadlines.

Requirements:

• Must preferably be based in Lilongwe.
• Hold an academic qualification in Bricklaying or a related field.
• Possess a minimum of 5–7 years of proven experience in finishing works.

 

Skills & Competencies:

• Demonstrated strong finishing and plastering skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately.
• Effective time management and capability to meet targets.
• Physical fitness and capacity to perform under pressure.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices.
