United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office supports the UN Resident Coordinator in leading and coordinating the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) to deliver coherent, effective, and impactful development results at country level. The UNRCO plays a central role in advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and enhancing data-driven decision-making across UN programmes.
In Malawi, the UNRCO provides strategic, technical, and operational support to the UNCT and its coordination structures, including the Programme Management Team (PMT), Operations Management Team (OMT), and UN Communications Group (UNCG). A key priority is strengthening data systems, monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management to improve programme coherence and development impact.
The Data Specialist provides technical support to the UNRCO in Lilongwe, focusing on data management, analytics, reporting, and strengthening systems for evidence-based decision-making across the UN system in Malawi.

Profile Required
Experience
Minimum 3 years relevant experience, including:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or related field.
