The Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) is a leading tourism and hospitality training institution in Malawi, with campuses in Blantyre, Lilongwe, and Mzuzu. The Institute also operates three application hotels: Alendo Hotel in Blantyre, Lingadzi Inn in Lilongwe, and Mzuzu Lodge.

The Institute invites applications from suitably qualified, self-driven, highly motivated, and high-integrity individuals to fill the position of Chef.

Purpose of the Job

To assist in managing kitchen operations and food preparation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing food.
• Cleaning utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Ordering, receiving, and storing foodstuffs.
• Upselling prepared products and services.
• Receiving customer orders from waiters.
• Preparing sales summaries.
• Ensuring food meets required standards before serving.

Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants must possess a Certificate in Food Production, with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
