Launched in 2016, our Malawi program serves more than 670,000 farmers with quality farm inputs and training. Our Malawian operations are based in Zomba, in the southern region, which hosts the country's largest concentration of smallholder farmers.


About the Role


We are recruiting experienced warehouse operations professionals to join our Logistics & Supply Chain department. This process will fill two positions: Warehouse Operations Coordinator (JL5) and Warehouse Senior Supervisor (JL4). The Warehouse Operations Coordinator will lead inventory management, warehouse planning, reporting, team supervision, and operational excellence within a regional warehouse. The Warehouse Senior Supervisor will focus on daily warehouse execution, workforce coordination, inventory transactions, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities


Warehouse Operations Management



  • Oversee or support all warehouse functions, including receiving, inspection, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.

  • Ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of agricultural input orders.

  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock counts to ensure accuracy.

  • Implement and uphold First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory management principles.

  • Optimize warehouse space utilization and ensure appropriate product storage conditions.


Inventory Control & Systems Management



  • Maintain precise inventory records within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other operational platforms.

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and facilitate reconciliation processes.

  • Ensure all stock movements are recorded accurately and in real-time.

  • Support or lead monthly inventory reconciliation and reporting activities.


Team Leadership & Workforce Management



  • Supervise, mentor, and support warehouse staff and casual labor teams.

  • Assign tasks and monitor productivity to meet operational targets.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of warehouse personnel as needed.


Health, Safety & Compliance



  • Ensure strict adherence to warehouse safety standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.

  • Conduct regular safety assessments and implement necessary corrective actions.

  • Guarantee compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.


Process Improvement & Reporting



  • Identify opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and overall operational performance.

  • Prepare and review operational reports and performance metrics.

  • Support the implementation of new warehouse processes, systems, and best practices.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to strengthen supply chain effectiveness.

Qualifications


General qualifications are outlined below; specific requirements for this role include:


For Warehouse Operations Coordinator (JL5):



  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain management, or comparable operational roles.

  • Experience managing permanent staff and operational teams.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP Business One is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.


For Warehouse Senior Supervisor (JL4):



  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain management, or similar operational roles.

  • Experience supervising teams or casual labor workforces.

  • Proficient computer skills and experience with digital inventory systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is beneficial.


For Both Roles:



  • A minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Operations, Supply Chain, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Agriculture, Science, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

  • Willingness to work in rural operational settings.

Zomba, Malawi – Your initial placement will be here, with assignments to various warehouses including Maone, Zamkutu, and Mwandama.
