Castel Malawi Limited is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician to manage their company clinic operations and provide essential occupational health services to employees.
Key Duties
- Provide first-line medical care, including first aid and emergency response for workplace injuries.
- Manage clinic inventory, ensuring proper ordering, storage, and care for drugs in liaison with Procurement.
- Maintain clinic cleanliness and ensure proper waste management according to established procedures.
- Administer Anti-Retroviral (ARV) services, including counseling, HIV testing, ARV issuance, and refill scheduling.
- Supervise clinic staff, organize work schedules to ensure continuous service availability, and manage medical examinations for food handlers.
- Conduct safety talks in collaboration with the Safety Team.
- Prepare monthly clinical operations reports analyzing health issues and industrial risks.
- Maintain accurate clinic records and filing systems.
- Ensure timely renewal of clinic certification with the Medical Council of Malawi and refer major cases to hospitals.
- Conduct examinations, diagnoses, and offer medical advice to employees.
Qualifications
- A Diploma in Clinical Medicine from an accredited institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a busy industrial or medical environment.
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
- Possess good interpersonal communication skills (oral and written), ability to conduct basic medical assessments (vital signs, first aid, triage), knowledge of medical emergency protocols, ability to maintain proper drug records, and strong confidentiality skills.
