About
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is a prominent producer of raw, refined, and specialty sugars, employing over 9000 individuals. The company is part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF).
Key Duties
- Develop, maintain, and support effective security, crime prevention, and emergency response strategies.
- Implement proactive measures for security, crime prevention, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure the effectiveness of operational plans for security-related incidents.
- Provide expert guidance on security and emergency response to the business.
- Deliver best practices during critical or emergency scenarios.
- Collaborate with national authorities to stay informed on crime trends.
- Engage with community and civil society stakeholders to support advocacy objectives.
- Continuously improve security measures and capabilities.
- Develop and manage strategies for security personnel and outsourced contracts.
- Adhere to all Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality (SHERQ), Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) standards.
Qualifications
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) is required.
- A Diploma in Criminology, Law, Security Management, or a related field is essential. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Must possess a valid driving license.
- At least 5 years of experience in security at an operations management level.
- A SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or HIRA qualification is considered an added advantage.
