Role Description
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the HR function at Mamaland in Malawi. This involves ensuring the implementation of HR policies and practices that align with the organization's global strategy. The role is crucial for HR operational management, local talent development within a multicultural and growing environment, and ensuring compliance with applicable labor legislation.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the local Human Resources function.
- Manage HR administrative processes, including hiring, contracts, employee records, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and legal obligations.
- Lead recruitment and selection processes, with an emphasis on developing local talent.
- Oversee employee onboarding, integration, and ongoing follow-up.
- Identify training needs and promote continuous team development.
- Coordinate occupational health activities and support health and safety management.
- Support the management of expatriate employees, ensuring their integration and legal compliance.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and results-oriented organizational culture.
- Act as a strategic partner to local management.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources roles.
- Experience in an international context or emerging markets (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HR administration and talent development.
- Knowledge of labor law (experience in an African context is valued).
- Good command of MS Office tools and preferably ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to multicultural environments.
- Autonomous, resilient, and results-oriented profile.
- Availability for international mobility.
