Purpose of the Job:
To provide strategic leadership for the efficient delivery of administrative services and the effective management, planning, and development of human resources within the Corporation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop Strategic Business Plans and budgets for the Human Resources and Administration Directorate.
- Ensure alignment of action plans with the Corporation’s overall business plan.
- Oversee the timely preparation of both operational and capital budgets for the directorate.
- Formulate comprehensive Human Resource and Administration Policies and Strategies to ensure the directorate effectively supports the Corporation's objectives.
- Implement approved Directorate Budgets judiciously, adhering to the Corporation’s policies and practices.
- Conduct training needs analyses and design relevant training programs for all staff.
- Administer performance and reward management systems, processes, and procedures throughout the Corporation.
- Develop and maintain a robust Human Resource Management Information System to inform strategic HR decisions and practices.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable Malawi Labour Laws and best Human Resource Management practices.
- Manage recruitment processes, provide performance counseling, and conduct disciplinary hearings, offering professional HR advice in all related matters.
- Prepare comprehensive management reports detailing the performance of the human resource and administration functions.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, or Business Administration from a recognized and accredited University, supplemented by a relevant Master’s degree from a recognized University.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, with at least five (5) years in a senior management capacity.
- Previous experience within the power supply industry will be an added advantage.
Appointment and Remuneration:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a negotiable performance-related contract for an initial period of three (3) years, with potential for renewal based on satisfactory performance.
