Purpose of the Job:

To provide strategic leadership for the efficient delivery of administrative services and the effective management, planning, and development of human resources within the Corporation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Strategic Business Plans and budgets for the Human Resources and Administration Directorate.
  2. Ensure alignment of action plans with the Corporation’s overall business plan.
  3. Oversee the timely preparation of both operational and capital budgets for the directorate.
  4. Formulate comprehensive Human Resource and Administration Policies and Strategies to ensure the directorate effectively supports the Corporation's objectives.
  5. Implement approved Directorate Budgets judiciously, adhering to the Corporation’s policies and practices.
  6. Conduct training needs analyses and design relevant training programs for all staff.
  7. Administer performance and reward management systems, processes, and procedures throughout the Corporation.
  8. Develop and maintain a robust Human Resource Management Information System to inform strategic HR decisions and practices.
  9. Ensure strict compliance with all applicable Malawi Labour Laws and best Human Resource Management practices.
  10. Manage recruitment processes, provide performance counseling, and conduct disciplinary hearings, offering professional HR advice in all related matters.
  11. Prepare comprehensive management reports detailing the performance of the human resource and administration functions.

Appointment and Remuneration:

The successful candidate will be appointed on a negotiable performance-related contract for an initial period of three (3) years, with potential for renewal based on satisfactory performance.
