Sales Executive – Polymers

Renowned as a trusted leader serving clients across Africa and the Middle East, this company is a preferred brand within the chemical distribution sector and is committed to continued growth.


The organization is actively recruiting a proactive and performance-driven Sales Executive (Polymers). This pivotal role will concentrate on expanding business across South Africa, Malawi, and Mozambique, utilising deep technical knowledge and market insight to achieve significant commercial success.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Development



  • Drive revenue, volume, and margin targets within assigned territories.

  • Proactively cultivate new client relationships, distributor partnerships, and market prospects.

  • Lead negotiation processes, craft persuasive proposals, and finalize agreements.


Technical Expertise & Support



  • Serve as a subject matter expert, offering technical guidance on PP & PE applications, with an emphasis on metallocene-based products.

  • Collaborate with clients and distributors to facilitate product adoption and address technical needs.


Reporting & Stakeholder Management



  • Maintain a comprehensive sales pipeline and provide regular updates on activities and market intelligence.

  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure efficient and punctual order processing.


Market Development



  • Spearhead the introduction and market penetration of ExxonMobil metallocene products in key regions, aiming to increase adoption and market share.


What We’re Looking For:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.

  • Substantial experience working with PP, PE & PVC product portfolios; prior exposure to metallocene technology is highly advantageous.

  • Essential experience in trading or distribution of PP, PE, and PVC.

  • Approximately 3-5 years of demonstrated success in technical sales or business development within the polymer industry, including roles in polymer raw material manufacturing, trading firms, or the polymer packaging sector.

  • Proficiency in polymer processing techniques such as film extrusion, injection moulding, and blow moulding.

  • Familiarity with the African markets is considered a valuable asset.
