Resource Mobilization Officer


Adolescent Girls Literacy Plus (AGLIT+), a leading Malawian NGO dedicated to empowering adolescents, is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Resource Mobilization Officer to join their team in Chikwawa. This role is instrumental in driving the organization's sustainability through strategic fundraising and partnership development.

Background


Established in 1996, AGLIT+ has a proven track record of improving adolescent lives through literacy, education, health, livelihoods, and community development programs. With significant support from foundations and international bodies, AGLIT+ is expanding its impact, notably strengthening its institutional capacity and reach.


This project, funded by the Tilitonse Foundation, Comic Relief, and UK Aid, aims to enhance AGLIT+'s ability to deliver impactful, community-led programs for adolescents. This includes expanding the functional literacy program to Nsanje District and reinforcing organizational structures.


Role Summary


AGLIT+ seeks an innovative individual to spearhead resource mobilization efforts. The successful candidate will identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and foster strong relationships with donors and partners, ensuring the organization's continued growth and impact.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy aligned with organizational goals.

  • Identify and research diverse funding opportunities, including grants and strategic alliances.

  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with current and prospective donors and partners.

  • Craft high-quality concept notes, funding proposals, and donor reports.

  • Collaborate closely with program teams to align funding opportunities with project requirements.

  • Manage a funding pipeline and stay abreast of donor trends and emerging prospects.

  • Represent AGLIT+ in relevant networking and partnership forums.


Qualifications and Experience



  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Project Management, Communications, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, business development, or partnership management, preferably within the NGO or development sector.

  • Skills: Strong proposal writing, analytical, and communication skills. Excellent networking, negotiation, and relationship management abilities. Capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for social impact.


Terms of Employment



  • Duty Station: Chikwawa District

  • Contract Duration: One year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.
