ECCL Resident Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Construction Oversight and Contract Management
• Direct daily construction operations for irrigation infrastructure, encompassing canals, pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, and related structures.
• Verify that all work adheres to approved designs, specifications, and contractual terms.
• Manage the construction contract, which involves reviewing and approving contractor claims, variations, and interim payment certificates.
• Track contractor performance, ensuring strict adherence to project schedules and quality benchmarks.
• Quality Assurance and Control
• Establish and oversee comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols.
• Evaluate and authorize project materials, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Guarantee thorough testing and inspection of all works and materials.
• Pinpoint defects and facilitate prompt corrective measures.
• Project Planning and Progress Oversight
• Examine and monitor construction schedules and actual progress relative to planned timelines.
• Anticipate potential delays and propose effective mitigation strategies.
• Compile routine progress reports, detailing both physical advancement and financial standing.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as the primary liaison among the client, contractor, and consultants at the project site.
• Preside over site meetings and technical deliberations.
• Collaborate with diverse teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental experts.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental Adherence
• Uphold all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) mandates.
• Track the execution of environmental and social protective measures.
• Advocate for and enforce safe working practices across the site.
• Record Keeping and Reporting
• Maintain meticulous site records, such as daily logs, directives, and all correspondence.
• Generate and submit regular reports (weekly, monthly, and upon reaching key milestones).
• Guarantee thorough documentation of as-built drawings and all project completion records.
• System Commissioning and Project Handover
• Supervise the rigorous testing and commissioning of irrigation systems.
• Verify the completion of snag lists and the satisfactory rectification of any identified defects.
• Aid in the seamless project handover process, including comprehensive documentation and training for client personnel.
