CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: INTERNSHIP/VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
The Malawi Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (MANET+) is seeking dedicated individuals for two internship/volunteer roles. Established in 1997, MANET+ serves as a vital coordinating body for associations and support groups of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Malawi, aiming to harmonize activities and promote effective networking.

Our Mission: To enhance the quality of life for People Living with HIV in Malawi through coordinated efforts, evidence-based advocacy, capacity building, and empowerment initiatives.
POSITION 1: INTERN/VOLUNTEER (MONITORING & EVALUATION OFFICER) (1 POSITION)
Role Overview: The M&E Officer Intern/Volunteer will bolster the organization’s M&E unit by managing data, tracking project progress, and aiding in report compilation. This role reports to the Projects Coordinator, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management: Ensure data accuracy through cleaning, verification, and input into databases or dashboard templates.
- Monitoring Support: Assist with routine data collection, conduct field visits, and participate in surveys such as baseline or endline assessments.
- Tool Development: Contribute to the design and testing of data collection instruments, questionnaires, and feedback mechanisms.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly progress reports, case studies, and summaries of stakeholder feedback.
- Documentation: Maintain organized electronic and physical records of monitoring forms, meeting minutes, and field evidence.
- Learning & Capacity Building: Document key learnings and success stories, and support training sessions for field staff or enumerators.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Health, or Development Studies.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, alongside proficiency in other MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with data collection tools like KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, ODK, or statistical software such as STATA or SPSS is an advantage.
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to work autonomously and manage multiple responsibilities effectively under pressure.
POSITION 2: INTERN/VOLUNTEER (RESOURCE MOBILISATION OFFICER) (1 POSITION)
Role Overview: As a Resource Mobilisation Officer, you will be instrumental in supporting our efforts to secure funding and cultivate partnerships essential for our organization’s sustainability and growth. This is a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in proposal writing, donor relations, and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources including donors, partners, and grant-making organizations.
- Contribute to the development of proposals, concept notes, and fundraising campaigns.
- Assist in nurturing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
- Support the formulation of resource mobilization strategies.
- Conduct research and compile documentation related to funding prospects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Public Health, Communications, or Public Policy.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication abilities are crucial for crafting proposals and engaging effectively with stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and comfort with digital tools, including social media platforms.
- Personal Attributes: A meticulous approach, the ability to perform under pressure, and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission (e.g., gender equality or human rights).
- Core Competencies:
- A keen interest in fundraising, development work, or nonprofit management.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A proactive, innovative, and results-driven attitude.
- Relevant academic background or current studies will be considered an asset.
