Pothawira Health Center is located in the Salima District, approximately two miles from Msangu Market along the Senga Bay Road. The facility comprises a general outpatient clinic, a dedicated birthing unit, and a newly established state-of-the-art surgical center.

Job Description

The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for the scheduling of all surgical procedures and general clerical work within The Surgery Center. The Surgical Scheduler works in collaboration with the OR Supervisor, Charge Nurse, and Anesthesia department to ensure procedures are scheduled appropriately, and equipment and staffing are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively works to promote and maintain an organizational culture that enhances our standing as the best place to work and receive care.
• Active engagement in staff meetings, department meetings, in-services, educational requirements, etc.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Pothawira Health Center’s current policies and procedures.
• Enters scheduling data in an accurate and timely manner.
• Schedules surgical procedures based on time and room availability, anesthesia coverage, caregiver coverage, and equipment conflicts in collaboration with the OR Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years work experience in medical office setting or worked as a nurse.
• Have at least a Diploma
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Ability to multi-task with accuracy.
• Customer-oriented with ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
