JOB TITLE: SALES & MARKETING OFFICER

LOCATION: Machinjiri Khama, Blantyre, Malawi

REPORTS TO: Managing Director

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY

The APEC Cleaning Services is seeking an aggressive, results-driven Sales & Marketing Officer to drive revenue growth across Blantyre. You will be responsible for generating leads, closing sales, managing client relationships, and building brand visibility for our cleaning services. You are the engine that brings business through the door.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Sales & Business Development

 - Identify, prospect, and sign new clients: offices, banks, schools, churches, factories, hospitals, residential estates

 - Conduct daily field visits and cold calls to achieve minimum 15 new client meetings per week

 - Prepare and present professional quotations, proposals, and conduct site assessments with Operations team

 - Achieve monthly sales targets set by management

 - Identify and prepare tender documents for government, NGO, and corporate cleaning contracts

2. Marketing & Brand Management

 - Execute marketing campaigns and develop ongoing strategies to grow the business

 - Manage company social media: Facebook, WhatsApp Business, TikTok - 5 posts per week minimum

 - Design marketing materials using Canva: flyers, brochures, company profiles, before/after content

 - Organize market activations, trade fairs, and networking events to promote The APEC brand

 - Ensure consistent branding on uniforms, vehicles, documents, and all client touchpoints

*3. Client Relationship Management*

 - Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers at client sites

 - Conduct monthly client check-ins to ensure satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities

 - Secure client testimonials, Google reviews, and case studies for marketing use

 - Manage contract renewals - contact clients 45 days before expiry

 - Resolve client complaints in coordination with Operations within 24 hours

4. Market Intelligence & Reporting

 - Monitor competitor pricing, services, and promotions in Blantyre/Lilongwe

 - Maintain accurate database of all leads, quotes, clients, and sales pipeline

 - Submit weekly sales reports: calls made, meetings held, quotes sent, deals closed

 - Advise management on market trends, new service opportunities, and pricing strategy

 - Track marketing ROI on flyers, ads, and campaigns

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 - Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or related field

 - Minimum 2 years’ proven experience in field sales, B2B marketing, or business development

 - Demonstrable track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets

 - Valid driver’s license with 2+ years driving experience – MUST be willing to drive to clients

 - Proficient in MS Office, WhatsApp Business, Facebook, and basic Canva design

 - Must own a smartphone and be comfortable with digital marketing

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

 - Aggressive “hunter” sales mentality - comfortable with cold calling and rejection

 - Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills

 - Strong networking ability and professional appearance

 - Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision

 - Fluent in English and Chichewa, both written and verbal

 - High integrity – you represent The APEC Cleaning Services brand
