About
The Forest & Climate Leaders' Partnership (FCLP) was launched at COP27 with the aim to accelerate global progress in halting and reversing forest loss and land degradation by 2030. This initiative also seeks to promote sustainable development and inclusive rural transformation through a voluntary partnership of countries committed to national action and international collaboration. The FCLP maintains high-level political attention on forests and climate, supports the implementation of national goals, and demonstrates impact. The FCLP Secretariat, which is recruiting for this role, is hosted by UNOPS.
Key Duties
- Coordinate workplans and deliver 2026 policy objectives, focusing on preparations for the FCLP intervention at London Climate Action Week.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver FCLP outputs and events related to London Climate Action Week, including stakeholder engagement, briefing materials, and logistical coordination.
- Project manage the delivery of 6 agreed outputs with the FCLP working group.
- Provide administrative support to the JREDD+ Coalition Coordination Group.
- Maintain regular engagement with FCLP co-leads and members to support participation in priority activities and ensure alignment of messaging.
- Develop and manage project management documents, including planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Support governance processes and day-to-day operational management.
- Develop relationships with external stakeholders, particularly those leading complementary initiatives attending London Climate Action Week.
- Attend weekly FCLP meetings and support cross-cutting FCLP events as required.
Qualifications
Education
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in environmental studies, international relations, political/business administration, or related fields, with two (2) years of relevant experience, OR
- A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental studies, international relations, political/business administration, or related fields, with four (4) years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Required: Demonstrated experience in project management and delivering high-level policy and political objectives involving forest carbon markets across multilateral engagements.
- Required: Proven experience working with tropical forest governments and through international programmes.
- Required: Prior experience working at London Climate Action Week.
- Desired: Experience working with tropical forest governments to deliver REDD+ outcomes.
- Desired: Experience leading government or multi-stakeholder processes.
Language
- Required: Fluent in English.
- Required: Fluent in Spanish.
- Desirable: Fluent in French.
