About the Role: Legal Intern
The Legal Intern will provide essential support to the legal department in Malawi, gaining practical experience in a dynamic non-profit environment. This role offers exposure to legal research, compliance, contract review, and general legal support for the organization's operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries on diverse legal topics relevant to One Acre Fund's activities in Malawi.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing various legal documents, policies, and contracts.
- Support compliance efforts by monitoring and reporting on changes in relevant laws and regulations.
- Aid in managing legal databases and ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
- Participate actively in legal training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the legal team as required.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
- Demonstrated strong academic performance.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in English; familiarity with Chichewa is considered an advantage.
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine interest in international development or non-profit law.
