Position: Investment and Finance Officer (Investment-oriented)
Location: Lilongwe, Malawi
Report: Programs Lead /Financial Controller
Sparc Systems Limited is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Investment and Finance to oversee day-to-day hub Investment and Finance functions supporting our innovation and entrepreneurship programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop startup financial models, unit economics, and growth projections.
- Support investment structuring, including convertibles, term sheets, equity scenarios, and investment readiness.
- Track portfolio performance and apply valuation methodologies for early-stage ventures.
- Advise founders on pricing strategies, margins, and sustainable growth economics.
- Coordinate with Sparc Systems Limited’s finance team on compliance and regulatory matters.
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, banks, and ecosystem partners.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in venture finance, investment analysis, corporate finance, or start-up advisory.
- Demonstrated experience working with early-stage start-ups or investment-focused organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Tax, regulatory, and compliance environment.
- Experience engaging with local investors, financial institutions, and funding partners.
Required Competencies
- Strong understanding of early-stage investment models and local funding ecosystems.
- Ability to model start-ups in key Malawian sectors such as agribusiness, fintech, and digital services.
- Strong analytical, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
